WhatsApp, a globally used instant messaging application, recently made an update to its interface that was met with criticism from users. The change only affected iPhone users, who noticed that the icons at the bottom of the main menu now appeared in green, instead of blue with red notifications. Although WhatsApp had previously tested this version a few months ago, it is now being applied to all devices using the iOS operating system. Android users were not impacted by this update since they already had green notifications on their devices that run on Google’s operating system.
Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, stated that they made changes to the app’s appearance and functionality, including spaces, colors, icons and more. They claim that these changes bring a new and modern experience to the app, making it more accessible and easier to use. However, some users have inquired about reverting to the previous color scheme but Meta has indicated that this change is not optional and will eventually be applied to all WhatsApp users.
If users have not yet seen these changes, they may have to wait for a while before they are implemented on their devices. The update cannot be circumvented or reversed as Meta has stated that it will be rolled out to all users in the future.
