NBA free agency is almost here, with the offseason officially starting two weeks ago after the Boston Celtics won the 2024 NBA Finals. But so far, free agents have only been able to negotiate with their current teams. That changes on Sunday night at 6 p.m. ET when NBA free agency officially begins and players can start negotiating with any team in the league. While deals can be agreed upon, contracts cannot be signed until the moratorium ends on July 6 at 12:01 p.m. ET.
Several big names are expected to make moves during this year’s free agency period, including LeBron James, who opted out of his contract with the Lakers and is expected to re-sign with them despite having a chance to explore other options. Other major free agents include Paul George and James Harden, both of whom are looking to make new deals in a league that is constantly changing due to trades and signings.
With so many talented players hitting the open market this year, it’s going to be exciting to see how things shake out in the coming weeks as teams scramble to fill rosters and compete for championships in a highly unpredictable season ahead. So stay tuned for more updates on this year’s biggest free agency signings in the NBA!
