NATO Secretary General Calls for Increased Air Defense and More Support for Ukraine in Brussels Meeting

During a recent meeting of Foreign Ministers in Brussels, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized the need for increased air defense protocols and the provision of more systems, specifically Patriot missiles, to Ukraine. He acknowledged the commitment of allies to examine their inventories and offer additional support, such as ensuring that ground-based systems have necessary ammunition.

Stoltenberg stressed the importance of continued and increased support for Ukraine, highlighting the urgency of the situation as Russia continues to press along the front line and mobilize more troops. He warned that failing to mobilize more support could result in further territorial gains by Russia. To achieve lasting peace, he urged the establishment of a robust and predictable framework for long-term support for Ukraine, emphasizing the critical role of Ukrainian armed forces in deterring Russian aggression and achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

In addition to emphasizing air defense protocols, Stoltenberg also outlined possible scenarios based on the level of support mobilized by NATO allies. He highlighted recent contributions from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Finland as examples of ongoing support for Ukraine. The Secretary General urged allies to continue contributing more support in order to prevent further territorial gains by Russia and ensure lasting peace in Ukraine.
