A 9-year-old boy from Long An was rushed to the City Children’s Hospital after being involved in a motorbike accident. He fell onto the road after a collision with a truck, causing severe injuries to his left leg. The medical team at the hospital provided emergency treatment including fluids, blood transfusions, anti-shock treatment, and CT scans.
Surgery was performed to debride and wash the wounds on both legs, with plans to amputate up to his thigh in order to save his life. Despite sustaining injuries to both legs, efforts were made to preserve the remaining limb for future prosthetic use. According to family members, the boy was riding on the back of a motorbike with his sister when they were involved in the accident.
The medical team worked diligently to assess and treat the patient’s injuries, focusing on stabilizing his condition and preserving his remaining leg for future mobility. The patient was in critical condition upon arrival at the hospital, with injuries causing shock, blood loss, and fractures in his left leg. Efforts were made to save his life by performing surgery and providing necessary treatments such as blood transfusions and platelets.
