Sarah Bacon and her partner Kassidy Cook had a successful showing at the U.S. Olympic Diving Team Trials in Knoxville, Tennessee. The duo celebrated after winning the Women’s 3M finals, with Bacon qualifying for two separate events in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
On Monday night, Bacon and Cook secured a victory in the women’s 3-meter synchro event at the trials. Additionally, Bacon qualified as an individual on the 3-meter springboard. She dominated the semifinals with a score of 341.25 and solidified her spot in the finals by scoring 297.75, giving her an overall total of 639.00.
Bacon’s exceptional performance at the trials adds to her already impressive resume as the most decorated female champion in Minnesota history. With five NCAA titles under her belt, Bacon’s accomplishments include three on the 1-meter and two on the 3-meter. She has made history at the university as an athlete with the most NCAA titles, tied for the most in any sport.
