In 2024, six Minnesota breweries were recognized for their exceptional beers at the World Beer Cup in Las Vegas. This prestigious competition is known as the “Olympics of beer” and attracts over 9,000 entries from more than 2,000 breweries worldwide, vying for gold, silver, and bronze medals in 110 categories.
Two Minnesota breweries received bronze medals for their impressive beers: Bent Paddle Brewing Co.’s German-Style Altbier “Little Dussel Do-Ya” and Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub’s German-Style Doppelbock or Eisbock “Dopplebock.” Two other Minnesota breweries took home silver medals for their unique offerings: Excelsior Brewing Co.’s Fruit Beer “Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale” and Lupulin Brewing’s Dortmunder/Export of German-Style Oktoberfest “Dortmunder.”
The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild expressed immense pride in these recipients for showcasing the high-quality beer produced by Minnesota brewers. The winners from Minnesota included two gold medal winners: German-Style Altbier “Little Dussel Do-Ya,” by Bent Paddle Brewing Co., and German-Style Doppelbock or Eisbock “Dopplebock,” by Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub. Additionally, two silver medal winners were awarded to Excelsior Brewing Co.’s Fruit Beer “Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale” and Lupulin Brewing’s Dortmunder/Export of German-Style Oktoberfest “Dortmunder.” Lastly, two bronze medals were given to BeerClub Brewing’s German-Style Doppelbock or Eisbock “Doppel (doppel) Bock (bock)” and Pryes Brewing Co.’s Mixed Culture Brett Beer “Idyll Forest – Soirée.”
