Meta Updates Labeling of AI-Generated Content to Increase Transparency

Meta has recently changed the labeling of images created or edited with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ‘AI Information’ instead of ‘Made with AI’. This change aims to provide more insight into how AI technology was used and whether there were minor modifications involved.

In an effort to increase transparency, Meta announced in February that it would begin identifying realistic content generated by AI tools on its social networks. However, images using AI technology were previously labeled as ‘Made with AI’, which applied to a range of content, including images generated from scratch and those that had been retouched using AI tools.
