The TGL, a tech-infused golf league set to debut in prime time next year, recently announced that Hideki Matsuyama will be joining the Boston Commons Golf team. Matsuyama took the spot of Tyrrell Hatton, who left the lineup after joining LIV Golf late last year. The team also includes Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, and Keegan Bradley.
Matsuyama expressed his excitement about teaming up with these respected players and hopes to push the boundaries of golf and provide fans worldwide with an unforgettable experience. He looks forward to winning championships together with his teammates.
Boston Common Golf is owned by Fenway Sports Group and is one of six teams established by TMRW Sports, led by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and CEO Mike McCarley. The league’s inaugural season was delayed by a year due to the collapse of the dome at the original SoFi Center last November. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no injuries, with a partial power failure causing the dome to deflate.
The TGL events will consist of 15 regular-season matches and a postseason, starting in January 2025 at the custom-built SoFi Center in South Florida.
