Maryland’s law enforcement system has recently adopted a new technology platform called Mark43. After launching in over 250 cities globally, the program has been introduced to improve public safety outcomes for both community members and first responders. Co-Founder Matt Polega emphasizes the importance of modernizing and optimizing public safety agencies to better serve the community.
The Mark43 platform is designed to assist various first responders, including 911 operators, EMS, firefighters, and police officers in their daily operations. One major benefit of the program is that it significantly reduces the time officers spend on paperwork, allowing them more time to protect the communities they serve. Matt notes that existing technology used by first responders is outdated and not suitable for the demands of the 21st century. Mark43 offers a cloud-native platform that includes record management, computerized dispatch, and analytics to enhance efficiency in reporting and communication.
Mark43 also improves working conditions for 911 operators by enabling them to work from home. This feature provides operators with a more comfortable environment while also allowing faster communication between operators and officers in emergency situations, ensuring quicker response times. The program aims to support law enforcement officers through innovative technology solutions as they work towards improving public safety outcomes during National Police Week.
