On Sunday, the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Moizu, announced that holders of Israeli passports would be banned from entering the country. This decision was made following a recommendation from Minister of Internal Security and Technologies, Ali Ihsan, who spoke at a press conference at the presidential headquarters.
The Maldivian government has decided to prohibit holders of Israeli passports from entering their country. The ban is part of a wider effort to support Palestinian issues and promote solidarity with Palestine. In addition to this ban, Moizu appointed a special envoy for Palestinian issues and launched a fundraising campaign through UNRA called “Maldives in solidarity with Palestine.”
