The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) is hosting a live webinar on May 29 from 3-4 p.m. to help Maine businesses access the funding they need to grow and succeed through the newly launched Maine Funding Network, an online portal that connects businesses with financing options.
Developed with input from business owners, lenders, and economic development leaders, the centralized platform provides easy access to various public and nonprofit funding options available in Maine. It consists of fifteen partner organizations, including advisors, lenders, and venture capital firms, with plans for expansion in the future.
Business owners can create an account on the portal to get connected with potential providers. Upon logging in, they are prompted to provide basic information about their business and funding requirements. The portal then uses this information to generate matches with funding agencies. If matched with a lender, businesses can complete a common loan application. The portal also offers key documents, like sample loan applications, translated into five of the most commonly spoken languages in Maine to assist applicants.
Governor Janet Mills recently introduced the Maine Funding Network as a way to support small businesses in accessing the resources they need to thrive. This initiative is aimed at making it easier for businesses to find the funding they need and grow their operations.
