The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a human trafficking investigation, resulting in the execution of search warrants at two residences and two health spas in the county. The Sheriff’s Enforcement Team worked closely with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the FBI to carry out the operation.
The raids took place at 25 Health Spa in Shelby Township and Healing Plus Spa on Mound Rd. in Sterling Heights. During these searches, six individuals were taken into custody by the sheriff’s office, while an additional six were arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Despite police remaining tight-lipped about specific details of the investigation, a survivor of human trafficking came forward to share their harrowing experience, shedding light on the pervasive issue of exploitation and abuse that continues to plague our society today.
