Tara Lawrence, owner of a goat registry that provides goats to individuals across the United States for various shows and fairs, has been experiencing financial losses due to lost documentation from the USPS. The documents required for goats to qualify for awards have been misplaced in the mail, leading to significant issues for her business and customers.
Tara’s goat business is primarily based in Canada, California, Florida, Georgia, and New Hampshire. Despite only facing issues with the USPS twice in the last 15 years, Tara relies on the postal service multiple times a day. The problems with lost documents started in February and have had a significant impact on her business’s cash flow.
Tara has attempted to reach out to USPS via phone calls and online but has not received any response. The lost documents are causing significant issues for her business and customers since they are necessary for children to exhibit animals at county fair levels. Currently, Tara has eight lost packages with USPS totaling over $1,200 in costs. She will need to reissue these documents at an additional expense.
WBRC has contacted USPS regarding the mail delays and was informed that someone would reach out to Tara soon. Updates on this issue will be provided as soon as WBRC receives further information from USPS.
