In Monday’s baseball action, the Northern Cambria Colts emerged victorious over Conemaugh Township with a score of 3-2. Despite allowing two earned runs over six innings and striking out seven, Larry Weaver put up a strong performance. Meanwhile, D.J. Bambino recorded two hits for Conemaugh Township, while Zack Petree and Colin Dinyar each provided a hit and an RBI.
In softball, Shade blanked Forbes Road in a doubleheader with impressive performances from Kaylee Jamison and Lowen Mincek. In Game 1, Jamison and Mincek both had two hits and three RBIs for the Panthers in a 15-0 3-inning victory. Tara Corradini also shone with two doubles and three runs scored while allowing just one hit. In Game 2, Shade dominated with a 20-0 win in three innings. Corradini excelled again, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Payton Maddy contributed three hits, including two doubles, three RBIs, and three runs scored.
The Berlin Brothersvalley softball team secured a 14-1 victory over Ferndale in five innings with impressive performances from Coral Prosser and Elena Ritchey. Prosser hit a grand slam while Ritchey homered to help lead the way to victory. Sydney Walker also had an impressive game with three hits and three RBIs while limiting Ferndale to one run on one hit over five innings.
