The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is on the clock to announce their T20 World Cup 2024 squad by May 1, and the anticipation is mounting. With only a few days left to make the final call, former cricketers are sharing their opinions on who should be included in the team for the prestigious tournament starting on June 2.
One such former cricketer is Irfan Pathan, who believes that India needs a strong bowling lineup with at least five quality bowlers. He suggests having two wrist spinners, Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav, in the team. However, he does not think Yuzvendra Chahal should be selected based solely on his IPL performance, emphasizing the importance of fielding skills. In his opinion, Jasprit Bumrah is a must-have in the team.
According to sources from the Press Trust of India (PTI), most of the squad has already been decided, with only a few positions left to be finalized. There may not be any major surprises in the selection, but there have been discussions about Hardik Pandya’s fitness to bowl and about including Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul in the squad.
