Klay Thompson’s NBA Departure: Leaving Behind a Legacy with the Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors are set to lose one of their most valuable players, Klay Thompson, as he is not expected to re-sign with the team when NBA free agency begins on Sunday. Thompson has been a long-time member of the Warriors, having played for the team since the start of his NBA career in 2011. Over his 11 seasons with the team, he has won four championships and been selected as an All-Star five times, including his most recent selection in 2019.

In 2019, the Warriors signed Thompson to a five-year, $189.9 million dollar deal after he suffered a torn ACL in the NBA Finals earlier that year. Despite missing out on two seasons due to injury, Thompson returned this season and averaged 17.9 points per game in 77 appearances, with 14 of those appearances coming off the bench. This was his first season coming off the bench since his rookie year in the NBA.

As a result of this news, fans are eagerly anticipating what will happen next for Klay Thompson and where he will go next in his career. With so many teams vying for his services, it’s anyone’s guess where he’ll end up next season.
