Keqiao 2024 marks the 395th Climbing World Cup event in history, which includes both UIAA and IFSC competitions. This will be the 40th event organized in China, with only France and Italy having hosted more Climbing World Cups. The upcoming competition will also push the total number of Boulder World Cup events to 149.

A total of 136 climbers from across the globe will be participating in the women’s and men’s Boulder events at Keqiao 2024. Among them, Nasser Abu Ergeeb from Kuwait will make his debut at an IFSC World Cup event, having previously competed in the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 and IFSC Asian Cup Riyadh 2023.

One of the highlights of this year’s competition is Slovenia’s Janja Garnbret’s chance to match South Korea’s Jain Kim for a record-breaking 62 overall World Cup medals. Swiss athlete Petra Kingler will also be competing in her 66th Boulder World Cup event, while Fanny Gibert from France and Nonaka Miho from Japan are set to participate in their respective 53rd and 50th competitions. In the men’s event, Japan’s Narasaki Tomoa aims to win his unprecedented 25th World Cup medal in bouldering.

Debutants at Keqiao include athletes like Yali WEI, Xuanzhen CHEN, and Yawen MI from China, as well as many more representing a diverse range of countries. Fans can stay updated on news and updates about the events on the IFSC website or through other digital channels such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Douyin, Weibo or any other platform they prefer.

Overall, Keqiao 2024 promises to be an exciting event that celebrates climbing talent from all over the world while pushing boundaries with new challenges for athletes.
