The Catawba Science Center is set to unveil a new exhibit on July 10 called “Expanding Horizons: The Solar System & Beyond.” This permanent exhibit, located in the Hall of Astronomy, just outside the Millholland Planetarium, will allow visitors to explore the solar system and learn about space travel. One of the highlights of the exhibit is a Mars pod that will give guests a feel for what it would be like to live on the red planet.
In addition to the exhibit, there will also be a new planetarium show called “Destination Mars” that will be narrated by former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison. To find out more about the exhibit and planetarium show, you can visit CatawbaScience.org/Hall-of-Astronomy.
The Catawba Science Center is situated on the SALT Block at 243 3rd Avenue N.E. in Hickory. The science center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Make sure to plan a visit to explore the wonders of the universe in this exciting new exhibit!
