Jackson, Mississippi’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is set to take visitors on a journey through time with its new exhibit, “Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors.” From June 8, 2024, to January 5, 2025, this exhibit will feature 11 animatronic dinosaurs, cutting-edge research, and a glimpse into Earth during the Mesozoic Era.
Director Charles Knight invites guests to come face to face with the giants of the past and experience a prehistoric Earth. Visitors will explore a time when the continents looked different, with deserts in Brazil and polar darkness in Australia during the age of dinosaurs.
The animatronics featured in the exhibit include the fearsome T. rex from North America, the predatory Herrerasaurus, one of the first dinosaurs on Earth, and the unique Oviraptor from Mongolia. Produced by Imagine Exhibitions and sponsored by various organizations, Dinosaurs Around the World aims to provide a playful and educational experience.
In addition to the exhibit, the museum will host weekly dinosaur-themed “Fun Fridays” and a “Tea Party with a T-Rex” event for visitors to enjoy. Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors follows the successful run of Attack of the Bloodsuckers! at the museum.
