Following a disappointing first presidential debate against Donald Trump, there have been rumors about Joe Biden’s health and his chances of re-election. In an effort to address these concerns, Biden revealed details about his recent medical check-up to a group of 20 Democratic governors on Wednesday.
During the private meeting, Biden disclosed that he had undergone a medical check-up after last week’s debate. When asked about his physical condition by one of the governors, Biden assured them that he was in good health. However, it was reported that the check-up was conducted by a White House physician due to lingering symptoms from his cold and did not involve any major tests.
When questioned by reporters about whether Biden had been examined since the debate, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre remained vague. She stated that the president has regular annual physicals with detailed reports released and that this practice would continue.
Despite these revelations, there have been calls among Democrats for Biden to drop out of the race. However, governors from New York, Minnesota, and Maryland expressed their support for President Joe Biden’s re-election bid during the meeting. Maryland Governor Wes Moore stated that they would stand behind him as he has always had their backs. New York Governor Kathy Hochul expressed confidence in her support for Biden after the meeting, where all governors pledged their allegiance to him. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz emphasized the importance of supporting Biden as the party’s leader and warned against the threat of a Trump presidency.
Overall, while there may be concerns about Joe Biden’s health and re-election prospects following last week’s debate, it is clear that many Democrats are still standing behind him and will continue to support him in his bid for another term as President of the United States.
