The IUP baseball program has just achieved a historic milestone by winning its first NCAA Super Regional series in program history. This feat has earned them the fifth seed in the 2024 NCAA DII College World Series, which was announced on Sunday night. With a season record of 38-16, the Crimson Hawks will kick off the double-elimination championship tournament against No. 5 seed Point Loma on June 1 at 1:30 p.m. in Cary, North Carolina.
The team faced adversity during the NCAA Super Regionals when they lost the first game to Seton Hill. However, they rallied back with consecutive victories over the Griffins, securing their spot in the DII College World Series. This will be IUP’s first appearance in the DII World Series, marking a historic moment for the Crimson Hawks.
The tournament schedule includes various matchups starting from June 1 to the championship finals on June 8. Fans can follow the IUP baseball program for updates on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram @IUPBaseball, as well as online at IUPathletics.com. This event is sure to be an exciting one, and we wish the Crimson Hawks all the best as they compete against Point Loma on June 1st!
