2 min read

In the southern part of Gaza Strip, at least seven people died in Israeli attacks on Rafah today. The ongoing offensive by Israeli troops continues in Shujaiya, where they have been operating since last Thursday. Since the start of the conflict, more than 37,000 people have lost their lives in Gaza, with most of them being women and children. About 87,000 people are still injured and many bodies remain trapped under rubble.

Over the weekend, Israeli troops raided a UN school in Shujaiya that had been used by Hamas militants as a hideout and storage facility. Weapons, grenades, and valuable intelligence documents were discovered during the raid. The Israeli Army accused Hamas of embedding themselves in civilian structures for terrorist purposes.

Israeli forces are currently conducting intelligence-based operations in both Rafah and the center of Gaza Strip. In Rafah, they eliminated several terrorists in various encounters, dismantled tunnels and destroyed a mortar launching base. Additionally, Israeli aircraft bombed other neighborhoods in Gaza City resulting in deaths and injuries. Palestinian medical sources reported difficulties accessing Shujaiya due to continuous shooting from Israeli troops.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces are operating throughout Gaza Strip to eliminate dozens of terrorists every day. The ongoing conflict has left the Strip devastated with residential buildings, schools and hospitals reduced to rubble posing a risk of famine for the Gazan population.
