Instagram has just introduced a new feature that allows users to create exclusive live rooms for their Best Friends. This means that only those selected individuals will be able to view the content and receive a notification when the stream begins.
For years, Instagram has offered users the option to go live by accessing the Feed or Stories and selecting the ‘Live’ option. During a live session, active followers appear at the top of the interface, with monetization and audience settings on the left side.
With this latest update, users can now choose to share live videos exclusively with their Best Friends. Instagram suggests using this feature for a variety of purposes, including sharing memes, planning trips, studying together or just hanging out in a more private setting. Best Friends will receive a notification when the live session starts.
The possibilities for using this feature are endless – from creating reading clubs and hosting confidence sessions to commenting on sports matches. The live creator’s profile photo surrounded by green will be displayed at the top of the Best Friends’ feed during the live session.
