Inspira Health Receives $1 Million Grant to Enhance Medical Services in South Jersey’s Rural Communities

Inspira Health’s Medical Center Mannington has received a $1 million health care grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment, according to a recent announcement from the South Jersey health system. The grant was made possible through the collaboration of USDA Rural Development Undersecretary Dr. Basil Gooden and New Jersey State Director Jane Asselta with Inspira Health CEO and President Amy Mansue, who formally announced the news.

Dr. Gooden highlighted the importance of providing high-quality health care services to rural and tribal communities, especially during challenging times. The project funded through the USDA’s Community Programs aims to provide essential equipment and services for historically underserved rural populations in South Jersey, while also supporting a larger revitalization effort at Inspira Medical Center Mannington.

CEO Mansue expressed her gratitude to the USDA for recognizing the need and to the Inspira team for their hard work in bringing this project to life. The funds were used to purchase critical medical equipment, ranging from cardiac/pulmonary equipment to ventilators, blood pressure monitors, defibrillators, and more.

The new equipment will enable the outstanding staff at Inspira Medical Center Mannington to provide an optimal patient experience. Purchases include EEG machines, dopplers, exercise equipment for cardiac rehab, hi-flow machines, and X-ray equipment. Overall, this grant will help enhance the level of care provided at the medical center and improve health outcomes for the rural communities it serves.
