The Kewpies of Hickman girls soccer entered their game against the Jefferson City Jays with a mission to end a three-game losing streak. The team had been struggling lately, but they were determined to turn things around. They faced a tough opponent in the Jays, who had won 10 games this season.
The game began with Ada Kirkpatrick scoring the first goal for Hickman in the 6th minute. This was followed by Lucy Elfrink finding the back of the net just six minutes later. Hickman continued to dominate, scoring another goal before halftime to take a 3-0 lead over Jefferson City.
The second half saw Hickman continue its attack, scoring three more times, including one off a corner kick from Kira Hoenes. This secured their victory with a final score of 6-0 over the Jays. With this win, Hickman’s record now stands at 5-4 for the season, while Jefferson City drops to 10-3.
Up next for the Kewpies is a trip to Smith-Cotton on Friday, while Jefferson City will have some time off until next Monday when they face Battle on the road.
