In a ceremony held in memory of the organization’s high-ranking commander, Talib Sami Abdullah (“Hajja Abu Talib”), who was eliminated by Israel on the night of June 12, Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah spoke. Nasrallah referred to the deceased commander of the An-Nasr unit as a great martyr and emphasized that he died in service, leaving behind Mujahideen who would continue his work. The Israeli military had deployed over 10 thousand soldiers on the border with Lebanon, according to Israeli leaders, which they believed would have been sufficient to defeat Gaza Strip. Nasrallah indicated that Hezbollah still had plans to invade Galilee if there was further escalation of the conflict.
Hezbollah leader Nasrallah also highlighted that the fighting on the northern border had not only exhausted Israel but had also resulted in tens of thousands of Israelis fleeing their homes, creating what he referred to as the first “security belt” in northern Israel. He mentioned that Hezbollah had established its own production of weapons that were already tested in combat conditions. Nasrallah warned Cypriot government against opening airports and military bases to Israel during the war, stating that it would draw Cyprus into the conflict. He also stated that if Israel wanted Hezbollah, Yemen, and Iraq to cease fighting, they must end the war in Gaza Strip.
