Heavy Smoke Rising from Dunn Business Fire as Multiple Agencies Work to Contain Blaze

On Tuesday evening, a fire broke out at a business near Dunn, causing heavy smoke that could be seen from at least 15 miles away. According to the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, the fire was reported at Discount Pallet Services on Ira B Tart Road east of I-95. When crews arrived on the scene, they encountered heavy fire and smoke.

Multiple agencies were still present at the scene as of 7:30 p.m., working to contain the blaze and investigate its cause. It is currently unclear how the fire started or if there were any injuries.
