This report aims to bridge this gap by examining how payment variations among healthcare providers contribute to disparities in healthcare.

The focus of this report is on the disparities in payments received by historically marginalized populations, including Black, Hispanic, American Indian/Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander individuals. Specifically, the report looks at whether these providers receive lower payments for the same services as those who primarily serve predominantly White populations. Furthermore, it investigates whether these payment discrepancies are solely driven by payer mix or if there exist differences within payer types.
