A conference held today at the Europe Experience in Rome focused on sustainable investments, companies involved in ecological and energy transition, and data and scenarios comparing the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) with the development of future mobility. The event, organized by the National Association of Young Innovators (ANGI) in collaboration with the Offices of the European Parliament in Italy, brought together stakeholders from the world of business, institutions, and universities to discuss the future of smart cities, sustainable mobility, and the green economy.
The European Green Deal was a key topic discussed at the conference. This regulatory activity has been significant during this legislative term and has made ambitious choices in the transport sector, which accounts for a quarter of climate-changing emissions. Carlo Corazza, Director of the European Parliament Offices in Italy, emphasized the importance of participation in upcoming European Parliament votes.
The UN 2030 agenda was also discussed at length. Attendees highlighted its role in building an economy focused on environmental sustainability. Young innovators stressed that promoting new technologies is crucial for sustainability but must be done responsibly. They pointed out that there are opportunities presented by the European Green Deal for Italy’s ecosystem characterized by youth and innovation.
The conference featured diverse speakers from various fields such as industry experts, sustainability professionals, academia and representatives from European Parliament. The discussions aimed to highlight risks and opportunities related to sustainable mobility under the European Green Deal’s umbrella. The success of this event was attributed to partner support and collaboration with ANGI’s President Gabriele Ferrieri who acknowledged their contribution towards its success.
Overall, participants left with valuable insights into how they can work together to address environmental challenges while creating a more sustainable future through innovation and collaboration.
