Global Insurance Giant Gallagher Acquires Australian Health Insurance Consultancy HICA to Expand Offerings

Health Insurance Consultants Australia (HICA), a specialized health insurance consultancy and brokerage firm based in Melbourne, Victoria, has recently been acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., a brokerage based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. HICA has been serving a variety of clients in Australia for over three decades, including corporate clients, small and medium-sized businesses, professional groups, and associations.

As part of the acquisition, Suzanne Still, the founder of HICA, along with Jethro Still and their team, will continue to operate from their current location under the leadership of Graham Campbell, who heads Gallagher’s employee benefits and HR consulting operations in Australia. This move is seen as a strategic move to expand Gallagher’s presence and offerings in the Australian market.

Gallagher’s chairman and CEO, J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition citing HICA’s strong growth record and its potential to enhance Gallagher’s benefits consulting capabilities in Australia.
