Antony Starr is the man behind the mask of Homelander in The Boys. He relies on a muscle-padded supersuit crafted by costume designer Laura Jean Shannon to bring his character to life. While the suit does most of the work in terms of appearance, Starr still puts in effort to watch his diet and maintain his physique during the 7 or 8 months of filming each year. In fact, at one point, he even had to wear a corset to fit into his outfit, which motivated him to shed a few pounds.
In a recent episode of Men’s Health’s “Eat Like,” Starr shares insights into his diet and fitness routine. He talks about his food preferences, highlighting his favorite breakfast, proteins, love for pasta and burgers, and a dairy-filled Homelander cheat meal. Starr also recommends adding a tablespoon of peanut butter to post-workout protein shakes for added texture and healthy fats.
Starr’s favorite protein source is a nice steak from New Zealand, and his ultimate last meal would be bolognese or burgers (sometimes ordering three at a time). Fans can watch the full “Eat Like” video to discover more about Starr’s diet and lifestyle as well as learn more about The Boys and its characters.
