From Devastation to Recovery: Tacoma Business Owner’s Stolen Gutter Truck Recovered thanks to Community Support

2 min read

On Friday night, a Tacoma business owner, Ron Baker, was devastated after his box truck containing his entire gutter business was stolen from his property. With all his tools and equipment gone, it seemed like he would have to start from scratch. However, on Monday night, there was some good news as the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office informed KIRO 7 that the truck had been recovered.

Unfortunately, it is unclear if all of Baker’s tools were still inside the truck when it was found during a response to an unwanted person call on 72nd Avenue South in Roy. Deputies discovered a man sleeping inside the truck and soon realized that it had been stolen. The man was then arrested for the theft. KIRO 7 is in the process of gathering more details about how the truck was found and the condition of the tools inside.

In the meantime, a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Baker in purchasing new tools and equipment for his business. The community is rallying behind Baker in this difficult time, showing support for a small business owner in need. While it is uncertain if any of the stolen equipment has been recovered yet, Baker can take comfort in knowing that he has the support of those around him as he rebuilds his business from scratch.
