Forest mourns the passing of FA Cup-winning star Jeff Whitefoot at 90

Nottingham Forest has announced the passing of former player Jeff Whitefoot at the age of 90. Whitefoot was a key member of the team that won the FA Cup in 1959, securing his place in Forest history.

Whitefoot began his career at Manchester United, where he became the youngest player to start in a league match for the club at just 16 years and 105 days old. He spent eight years with the ‘Busby Babes’ at Old Trafford before moving to Grimsby Town. However, it was less than a year later when he joined Nottingham Forest under the management of Billy Walker, Andy Beattie, and Johnny Carey that he would find his greatest success.

During his time with Forest, Whitefoot played an impressive 285 games and achieved great things with the team. His greatest achievement came in his first season with the team when they won the FA Cup for the second time by defeating Luton Town at Wembley. The club expressed deep sadness at Whitefoot’s passing and offered their condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
