One case mentioned in the document involves the FBI collaborating with Ukrainian intelligence to identify American social media accounts. The committee expresses concerns that the FBI might be cooperating with foreign governments to censor US citizens, emphasizing the importance of freedom of expression in democratic societies.
To understand the extent of the FBI’s interactions with Brazilian authorities regarding censorship efforts, Jordan has requested the FBI to provide documents and communications related to conversations with Brazil by June 4th. This request includes exchanges of communications between FBI personnel and Brazilian authorities, as well as those with US Executive Branch agencies and the government of Brazil.
