Big Island Toyota, a successful dealership with two locations on Hawai‘i Island, has been sold to Servco Pacific Inc. The deal includes both the Big Island Toyota Hilo and Big Island Toyota Kona locations. This agreement marks the end of a long-term business relationship between the two companies, dating back to 1966.
Jackie DeLuz, president of Big Island Toyota, shared that the decision to sell the business was not an easy one, as their family has been involved in the company for years. However, without a family member willing to take over the business, they felt it was time to pass it on. They believe that Servco Pacific Inc., with its shared values and commitment to service, is the right partner to continue their legacy.
Big Island Toyota has been a thriving dealership for over 65 years and has held the number one spot on Hawai‘i Island since 1970. Founded by David S. DeLuz Sr., John Correira, and Tatsuo “Baldy” Higashi, the company boasts more than 100 team members dedicated to quality and service. Mark Fukunaga, executive chair of Servco Pacific Inc., expressed his gratitude for the long partnership and looks forward to welcoming Big Island Toyota into the Servco family.
Servco Pacific Inc., established in 1919 by Mark Fukunaga’s grandfather Peter Fukunaga as a small garage, has grown into a major player in Hawai‘i’s automotive industry. Today, it is Hawaii’s largest private company and distributes exclusive vehicles from Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru in various markets across Asia-Pacific regions. With its dedication to providing top-notch customer service and quality products, Servco continues to be recognized as one of America’s Best Managed Companies and a top place to work in Hawai‘i year after year.
