On April 24th at 6 p.m., the Museum of the Rockies will host a Science Inquiry Series talk by Dr. Krishna Rupavatharam, director of Montana State University’s Spectrum Lab. This presentation, titled “Telecommunications to Teleportation: Making Light Work,” will explore the applications of photons in science and innovation.
Dr. Rupavatharam is a renowned expert in the field of photonics, which is the study of light. He has worked at several prestigious institutions, including the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India, and the Lund Institute of Technology in Sweden before joining MSU Spectrum Lab. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for the Montana Photonics and Quantum Alliance.
During his presentation, Dr. Rupavatharam will discuss how photons can be manipulated for various purposes such as remote sensing, holographic imaging, quantum teleportation, and communication. His extensive experience in this field makes him an ideal speaker to share his insights with attendees.
The Science Inquiry Series talks are free and open to the public and are sponsored by Gallatin Valley Friends of the Sciences and Hopa Mountain, with hosting provided by the Museum of the Rockies. Following Dr. Rupavatharam’s presentation, there will be a Q&A session where attendees can ask questions about his work in photonics and its applications in science and innovation.
