Luis Arce, the current Bolivian president, has been accused by former President Evo Morales of orchestrating a recent military uprising as a “self-coup” to boost his own image and potentially hand over the presidency to the military junta. Morales’ comments align with General Juan Zúñiga’s claims that the coup attempt was planned for personal gain by Arce.
In addition to accusing Arce of deceiving the people and lying, Morales also criticized his economic management, stating that it was unfavorable compared to his own administration. He suggested that the military rebellion was a diversion tactic used to hide Arce’s alleged mismanagement of the country.
Morales also noted that there has been a lack of discussion about the shortage of fuel and dollars in Bolivia since the events unfolded. He believes that this is evidence of Arce’s poor economic management and further supports his accusations against him.
