WVU faculty and staff are invited to participate in a virtual Mental Health 101 Training session, hosted by WELLWVU and the Carruth Center. The training will take place on two separate days: June 13 from 10-11:30 a.m and July 16 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
During this 90-minute training, participants will gain valuable insights into current national mental health statistics and specific characteristics related to WVU. Effective listening skills will be emphasized, as well as an in-depth exploration of the services offered by the Carruth Center and the CARE Team. Additionally, attendees will learn about warning signs of suicide and how to safely intervene with students who may be in distress.
