A new initiative called Veterans Launching Ventures has been unveiled by the New Jersey Small Business Development Center at Fairleigh Dickinson University. This program aims to support active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families in launching or expanding a business. The program will be offered free of charge thanks to the support of TD Foundation and Wells Fargo. It was developed in collaboration with FDU and Stockton University.
Veterans Launching Ventures is designed to provide participants with the tools they need to succeed in entrepreneurship. The program consists of four modules that include both on-demand and live virtual training courses, as well as professional consulting support and workshops. The first three modules offer nine self-paced on-demand classes focusing on entrepreneurship basics, idea generation, and feasibility testing. These modules, along with weekly live workshops, are now available for participants.
The fourth module is tailored for individuals who plan to open a business within the next six months. It includes a nine-week business planning course, access to resources, and personalized consulting. This module will start on Tuesday and will culminate with a business plan pitch competition on June 29.
