Empowering Seniors: COAST Hosts Successful Health Fairs for Older Residents

1 min read

COAST recently hosted two successful health fairs catering to older residents, with events taking place at the Madisonville Activity Center on May 31 and the Slidell Activity Center on June 14. Each fair attracted around 90 and over 100 attendees respectively, and featured vendors specializing in health and wellness. The vendors provided attendees with health screenings, massage therapy, mental health support, community resource information, interactive fitness demonstrations, and cooking demonstrations by Chef Jeff Mattia from Pyre BBQ focusing on anti-inflammatory foods.

Participants had the chance to win door prizes supporting a healthy lifestyle such as Instant Pots and Magic Bullet blenders. All attendees received a COAST backpack filled with giveaways and information. These events aimed to empower older adults to take charge of their health, gain knowledge, connect with local resources and community support. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of these events! COAST looks forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
