Elon University’s Dean of Business College Announces Departure After Expanding Undergraduate Majors and Accreditations

2 min read

Raghu Tadepalli, dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University, has announced his departure from his position after 12 years in the role. His tenure as dean will end with the 2024-25 academic year and Elon will begin searching for a replacement in fall 2024. This marks the sixth senior staff member to leave their position within the past two years, including Gabie Smith, former dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Despite his departure from this role, Tadepalli will be returning to Elon in the 2026-27 academic year as dean emeritus and special assistant to Connie Book, president of Elon University. Tadepalli is a scholar in the field of marketing with numerous peer-reviewed articles to his name. During his tenure as dean, he made significant contributions to expanding the number of faculty, staff, and students attending the school of business. At the start of his deanship, there were 1,356 students enrolled in business majors compared to now 2,145 students. He also successfully achieved three accreditations for the school of business by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), with the most recent one happening April 3. Under his leadership, he also expanded the school’s degrees to six new undergraduate majors including Business Analytics, Project Management, and Human Resource Management.
