The El Paso Sheriff’s office is proposing a mental health program for officers. The program aims to support the mental well-being of peace officers and deputies through individual and group therapy sessions. In collaboration with Family Endeavors, Inc., the program will provide specialized treatments such as animal therapy and art therapy. Funding for this initiative comes from a grant award.
Sheriff Richard D. Wiles has submitted an agenda item to Commissioners Court for approval of the mental health program for officers. If approved, the program will be in effect from March 2024 through March 2025. This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
