A northern Michigan family-owned clothing store, Ed Rehmanns in Chesaning, is celebrating its 105th anniversary on Saturday. The store was established in 1919 and has been a part of the community for over a century. The anniversary festivities began in May with the unveiling of a mural created by a local student in collaboration with Carhartt.

Ed Rehmanns sells a variety of clothing, including fire-resistant and regular workwear, as well as first responder uniforms and accessories. They also provide services such as tailoring, tuxedo rentals, dry cleaning, and partner with other businesses. Co-owner Ric Rehmann expressed gratitude for the community and customers who have supported the store throughout the years. He emphasized that it is an honor to continue their grandparents’ legacy and be a part of Michigan’s history.

The anniversary celebration on Saturday will feature giveaways from partners like Carhartt and Red Wings Boots, live music, food trucks, and face painting. Co-owner Nancy Rehmann expressed their gratitude and pride in serving multiple generations of Michiganders. She emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses as it keeps money within communities, creates jobs and helps everyone to pursue their dreams. It’s a big thank you to all the supporters who have made the store’s success possible.
