Eco.mio, a Berlin-based B2B startup, has recently secured seed funding in the low seven figures to help companies achieve their climate goals and reduce travel costs. The financing was led by IBB Ventures, Identity.vc, and the Hans(wo)men Group, with additional support from N&V Capital, Partners in Clime, and various individual investors. Established in 2021, Eco.mio aims to use the funding to expand its operations beyond Germany and introduce new products tailored for hotels and rental cars, as well as solutions related to CO2 taxation and budgets.
The company’s solution integrates with existing booking systems to encourage employees to opt for greener travel options. Some of their partners include Cytric by Amadeus, SAP Concur, and BCD’s consultancy Advito. Corporate clients who have utilized Eco.mio’s solution have reportedly reduced their CO2 emissions by 26%. Co-founder and CEO of Eco.mio, Katharina Riederer, mentioned that this funding will enable them to scale their solutions to become a European leader and widen their product range. She added that with the support of investors, they aim to make sustainability a fundamental component of every business trip.
Til Klein, a co-founder of Identity.vc, expressed that the capability to seamlessly integrate with the existing systems of business customers makes Eco.mio’s solution extremely valuable. Klein emphasized that this was a critical factor in their decision to invest in the company. With this investment round under its belt
