The new iteration of devices from Light Phone, a manufacturer of non-smart mobile phones, has been launched. Called the Phone III, this device aims to redefine the concept of telephony by offering a simple tool for calling and receiving calls without the distractions of applications and social networks. The Light Phone III boasts a black and white screen, metal frame, and white numbers.
The original Light Phone was incredibly lightweight, weighing only 38 grams and measuring 5.3 centimeters wide. Its battery lasted 20 days on standby and only had a white light to illuminate the numbers when receiving calls. The new Light Phone III has a larger screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,240 on a 3.92-inch Full HD panel and weighs just 124 grams. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor with 6 GB RAM and comes with an impressive camera setup that includes a 50 MP camera and an 8 MP selfie camera.
The battery life of the Light Phone III is also longer than its predecessor, with a capacity of 1,800 mAh that supports fast charging as well as wireless charging capabilities. It also supports Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity along with dual SIM cards for added flexibility in communication options. Other features include GPS navigation, NFC payments, pre-installed apps such as an alarm and timer, fingerprint identification system for added security measures, flashlight for low light situations, address book for contact management tasks and it uses physical buttons instead of touchscreens which makes it more user friendly for people who are not tech savvy or prefer physical controls over virtual ones.
The Light Phone III can be reserved for $399 during the introductory offer but will later cost $799 after launch date .
