FC Dallas suffered their fourth consecutive loss in a row as they lost 2-1 to Austin FC on Saturday night. Despite taking an early lead, Dallas was unable to hold on and eventually fell to the more dominant team.
Diego Rubio and Julio Cascante scored for Austin, with Rubio’s goal in the 70th minute proving to be the game-winner. Cascante quickly leveled the score just a couple of minutes later, responding to Dallas’ earlier goal.
Despite Dallas having possession for much of the match, they were unable to take advantage of their chances and ultimately fell victim to Austin’s superior play. Both goalkeepers made three saves each in a competitive game that saw both teams give their all.
This victory was much-needed for Austin FC, who had been struggling early in the season. They dominated possession with 65% of the ball and outshot Dallas 16-7, making it clear that they were the better team on this night.
