Cricket fans on Long Island can catch the action from the comfort of North Oculus Plaza at the World Trade Center during this year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 tournament. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and Port Authority are hosting free public viewing parties, featuring games being shown on a big screen.
Local businesses in East Meadow are preparing for a surge in customers as they gear up for this year’s Cricket World Cup. NBC New York’s Erica Byfield reports that preparations are underway.
The viewing parties will feature some of the most highly anticipated matches, including India vs. Ireland, Papua New Guinea vs. Uganda, Australia vs. Oman, U.S. vs. Pakistan, Namibia vs. Scotland, Netherlands vs. South Africa and more. Fans are encouraged to RSVP for each viewing party via Eventbrite to secure their spot.
During the parties, fans can enjoy activities such as face painting, cricket simulators and appearances by players and mascots.
