CNBC has launched a new vertical dedicated to sports business news called CNBC Sport. The network has recruited sports business journalist Michael Ozanian to join the team as senior sports reporter. Ozanian has nearly 30 years of experience at Forbes, where he was known for his team valuation coverage. In his new role, Ozanian will provide data-driven rankings, breaking news, and analysis of major sports business moves.
In addition to Ozanian, CNBC announced that media reporter Alex Sherman will now cover both media and sports. Contessa Brewer will report on sports gambling, Scott Wapner will interview sports business leaders, and Jessica Golden will report and produce sports content for CNBC Sport.

Other media outlets, such as Puck News, have also expanded their sports coverage with experienced journalists.
