In March, the Chinese Shen Xing Company signed a contract to transfer the usufruct of a 270 thousand square meter area within the TEDA Industrial Zone to establish a new factory designed to produce high-pressure pipes from flexible cast iron. The factory’s annual production capacity is 240 thousand tons, and it is expected to create 714 direct job opportunities.
The construction of the factory is set to be completed by the first quarter of 2025, with investments totaling $146 million. The Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Walid Gamal El-Din, attended the inauguration of the foundation stone along with other Chinese officials. Chinese officials emphasized the strong collaboration and strategic partnership between China and Egypt, with this project being a testament to their successful economic cooperation.
