The Kansas City Chiefs have recently joined forces with Hollywood, and the result is a Hallmark Channel film titled “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.” Filming for the movie is set to begin in August, with actors Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley Jr. set to star. The project will take place in Kansas City, Missouri. Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President of Programming, expressed excitement about the collaboration between Hallmark and the Chiefs, highlighting their shared values and community spirit.
The plot of “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” follows Alana Higman (King) entering her family into a contest to be named the biggest fan of the year. Derrick (Hynes), the Chiefs’ Director of Fan Engagement, is tasked with judging the families to determine the winner. As Alana and Derrick spend time together, a connection forms between them, challenging Alana to consider the role of fate in their meeting. While it’s unclear which Chiefs players will make appearances in the film, scenes will be filmed at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, where the team plays its home games.
Earlier this year, the Chiefs released a spoof trailer of a Hallmark Christmas film featuring Tyler Hynes in a different role. This upcoming movie promises to blend professional football with heartwarming storytelling that Hallmark is known for while showcasing the community spirit, traditions, and passionate fans that define Kansas City.
